راه آهن مراغه – میاندوآب به طول ۴۸ کیلومتر به عنوان فاز اول راه آهن مراغه–ارومیه و با هدف اتصال مرکز استان آذربایجان غربی به شبکه سراسری راه آهن کشور، امکان حمل انبوه بار و مسافر این استان، بهبود شبکه حمل و نقل و افزایش سطح ایمنی سفر افتتاح و به بهره برداری رسید.

اجرای این پروژه ۷۱۰ میلیارد ریال هزینه در بر داشت.
