واژۀ infox یک نوواژه (نئولوژیسم) در زبان فرانسه است که معادل Fake news در زبان انگلیسی انتخاب شدهاست. این نوواژه از دو واژۀ «information» و «intoxication» تشکیل شدهاست.
مثال: • Les infox sont des nouvelles mensongères diffusées dans le but de manipuler ou de tromper le public. • Oublions les fake news ! En français, on dira « infox ». Ou « fausse nouvelle ».
