التقينا مساء اليوم سعادة السفيرة الأميركية في العراق السيدة إلينا رومانيسكي، وتبادلنا وجهات النظر حول تطورات المشهد السياسي في العراق والمنطقة والعلاقات الثنائية بين بغداد واشنطن وكيفية تطويرها بما يخدم مصالح البلدين والشعبين ويحفظ مكانة الجميع.
دعونا الجميع لإنجاح زيارة السيد السوداني إلى واشنطن، وأكدنا أهمية تنويع محاور الزيارة والتركيز على الجوانب الاقتصادية والثقافية والتعليمية إضافة إلى الملف السياسي والأمني.
عراقيا شددنا على أهمية إقامة انتخابات إقليم كردستان بحضور جميع القوى والأحزاب لإعطاء صورة إيجابية عن الديمقراطية في العراق، وبيّنا أن الاستقرار السياسي في أي مساحة من مساحات العراق ينعكس إيجابا على مستوى العراق بأكمله.
في ملف اختيار رئيس جديد لمجلس النواب، شددنا على حسم الموضوع بين أطراف المكون السني الكريم، وأهمية اعتماد معايير وآلية محددة للاختيار لتسهيل المهمة، و دعونا لتحديد جلسة انتخاب الرئيس بعد العيد مباشرة.
وحول تطورات الأحداث في غزة قلنا بضرورة الضغط على الكيان الإسرائيلي بتطبيق قرار مجلس الأمن وإيقاف الحرب الظالمة على شعب غزة المحاصر، والشروع بإدخال المساعدات وإعمار القطاع.
This evening, we met with the US ambassador to Iraq, Her Excellency Ms. Alina L. Romanowski, and discussed views on the developments of the political landscape in Iraq and the region, in addition to the bilateral ties between Baghdad and Washington and the methods to develop them to serve the interests of both countries and people and safeguard the status of everyone.
We urged everyone to endorse the visit of Mr. Al-Sudani’s visit to Washington, and affirmed the importance of diversifying the axis of the visit, in addition to focusing on the economic, cultural, and educational aspects as well as the political and security files.
Concerning Iraq, we stressed the importance of conducting the Kurdistan Region’s elections with the presence of all powers and parties to give a positive image of democracy in Iraq. furthermore, we illustrated that the political stability in any arena in Iraq will reflect positively on Iraq in general.
Regarding electing the new Speaker, we stressed concluding the matter by the parties of the genuine Sunni component, and the importance of adopting standards and a method of electing to ease the process. We urged to conduct the session of electing the speaker directly after Eid.
Regarding the developments of the Gaza Strip, we stated the importance of pressuring the israeli entity to implement the resolution of the security council and putting an end to the unjust war on the besieged people of Gaza, as well as providing aid and reconstructing the strip.
