تفسيرات في هرمونات العقم عند النساء :
● Elevated LH and FSH With decreased of estradiol and progesterone indicate primary hypogonadism (ovarian failure) eg.Turner's syndrome or menopause.
●Low LH and FSH with increased estradiol and progesterone indicate primary hypergonadism Caused by ovarian tumor .
● Low LH and FSH with low estradiol and progesterone indicate secondary hypogonadism ( hypothalamus or pituitary defect ).
● Elevated LH and FSH with elevated estradiol and progesterone indicate secondary hypergnadism caused by tumor in pituitary gland.
● The mild level increased of prolactin exclude pituitary tumor . ● The increased prolactin >700 mU/L suggest the patient has macroprolactin or prolactinoma.
● Increased prolactin accompanied by normal TSH and FT4 results suggests a prolactinoma.
● Increased prolactin accompanied by increased TSH and decreased FT4 results suggests primary hypothyroidism and exclude prolactinoma.

● Progesterone <10 nmol /L anovulatory cycle. Progesterone 10–30 nmol/L ● Probably an ovulatory cycle. But may indicate decreased fertility
