Notice: Here is some additional information about newly added Reading questions:
1. There are two Interactive Reading passages on the test, with 6 questions each. One passage will be narrative (like a story) and one will be expository (informative or educational).
2. You will have a time limit to answer the full set of questions for each passage. Depending on the passage, the time limit to complete all the Interactive Reading tasks is either 7 minutes or 8 minutes.
3. Of the 6 questions for each passage,
there are 5 different question types, with one of the question types occurring twice and the others occurring once each.
4. These questions will contribute to the
overall Duolingo English Test score under the Literacy and Comprehension subscores.
5. The test will still be 1 hour long and to make room for the Interactive Reading questions, a certain number of each existing question types are being removed from the earlier test. However, no question types are being entirely removed from the test.
