غلط:

صحیح:

Risk + -ing
ریسک کردن، خطر کردن،به خطر انداختن

غلط:
We couldn't risk #to_leave him alone.

صحیح:
We couldn't risk #leaving him alone.

Stop + -ing
متوقف کردن/شدن، نگه داشتن، توقف کردن، ایستادن، دست کشیدن

غلط:

صحیح:

(be) Worth + -ing

غلط:

صحیح:
Is today's film worth #seeing?

Have difficulty in + -ing
در انجام کاری مشکل/اشکال/دشواری داشتن

غلط:
She has no difficulty #to_do it.

صحیح:
She has no difficulty in #doing it.

غلط:

It's no use + -ing
فایده ای نداشتن، بی فایده بودن

غلط:

صحیح:
It's no use #crying like a baby.


It's no good + -ing
خوب نبودن؛ بی فایده بودن، نتیجه ای نداشتن؛ به درد نخوردن

غلط:

صحیح:

بی صبرانه منتظر (چیزی) بودن، بی صبرانه منتظر بودن که...، چشم به ‌راه بودن، مشتاق بودن

غلط:

صحیح:

There is no harm in + -ing
ضرری نداره، عیبی ندارد

غلط:
There's no harm #to_visit her now.

صحیح:
There's no harm in #visiting her now.

Take an exam, not give an exam. (student, pupil)

غلط:
The pupil gave his exam.

صحیح:
The pupil took his exam.


Note: The teacher gives or sets the exam. The student takes the exam or sits the exam.

غلط:
I have much work this morning.

صحیح:
I'm very busy this morning.
امروز صبح خیلی گرفتارم.

به جای #very_busy می تونیم بگیم:

I have a lot of work to do this morning.
