از as if و as though برای بیان مقایسه وضعیت های تخیلی یا بیان شرایطی که احتمال وقوع دارند استفاده می کنیم.

They feel as though they didn't do enough, but they did.

دقت داشته باشید که فرم فعل بعد از کلمات بصورت زمان گذشته است.

برای بیان مقایسه در مورد شرایطی ممکن که می تواند اتفاق بیفتد، بعد از as if و as though از زمان حال استفاده می کنیم.

He speaks as if he knows a lot about cooking.
