Why's it called RAMADAN? The word RAMADAN (رمضان ) comes from the word (رمض ) (Ramad ) =which means "burning " انما سمي رمضان لانه يرمض الذنوب اي يحرقها بالأعمال الصالحة . Imam Qurtubi: "it was named RAMADAN because it burns the sins of people with good deeds"
