One of the apartments that stand out in my mind as the most beautiful apartment I have ever been to is one of my close friends Ehsan’s. He is, in fact, a rich businessman whose apartment is located in the northern part of Tehran which is one of the most expensive spots in Iran.
The first reason why this apartment is found by me as the best of the best is that the neighborhood where this apartment lies situated is absolutely peaceful. You know Tehran is a huge mega city and people suffer air pollution; however, the neighborhood where Ehsan’s apartment is located is both quiet and devoid of any pollution as it is near the northern mountains of the city.
Another reason that this apartment is appealing to me is both its artistic and somewhat bizarre veneer as well as its internal intricate design with its masterfully decorated rooms that can dazzle every beholders’ eyes. Speaking of decoration, the walls of his big and spacious living room is painted in sky blue with hundreds of small dots of white and pink blossoms painted all over.
Since Ehsan is an art lover, you can find mesmerizing and thought-provoking paintings populating the walls. There are also antique and fascinating artistic objects which have turned the apartment into an art museum. The apartment is always well-lit because sunlight streams through the 4 big windows on the walls.
There are three more bedrooms which are beautifully designed. The patio which is on the far side of the big living room overlooks an exquisite park. There are two showers which are equipped with bathtubs. That is all that comes to my mind now.
There is nothing I dislike about this apartment. I actually adore spending my time there because I always feel a magical world opens up to me whenever I go there.

Q. What sorts of food do you like eating most? [Why?]
I am in favor of eating the dishes my mom has always cooked, I mean, traditional Iranian cuisine. You know the luscious dishes like Ghorme Sabzi and Gheyme which are two of the most famous and most cherished Iranian stews served with rice. I also adore Italian pizzas, especially served in an Italian restaurant.
Q. Who normally does the cooking in your home?
Well, in fact, I no longer live with my family. In my own apartment, I alone am in charge of taking care of my own food, and in fact I love cooking and experimenting new dishes. However, when I travel back to my hometown, it is my mom who mostly does the cooking, and I sometimes give her a hand.
Q. Do you watch cookery programmes on TV? [Why/Why not?]
Sometimes when I lie back on my soft, and am too exhausted to do anything, I always try watching things that can be both entertaining and practical. It is when cooking programs can be useful and since I consider cooking as a delicate art, I do my best to learn and surprise my family and friends with delectable nourishing and gourmet meal.
Q. In general, do you prefer eating out or eating at home? [Why?]
Well, I think I’d rather try super special and new foods in international restaurants if I can afford them; yet since they cost me an arm and a leg, I prefer cooking my own food at home. I can sorta satisfy myself with the fact that homemade foods are more nutritious and healthier than the ones served in fancy restaurants.
