سال ۱۳۲۲ شمسی به طور اتفاقی، کتیبه‌ای به خط و زبان یونانی از محله «دو خواهران» نهاوند کشف شد که نشان می‌داد نهاوند در زمان سلوکی‌ها «لائودیسه» نام داشته و دارای معبدی به همین نام بوده است.
شهرهایی که تاریخ‌نویسان و نویسندگان از زمان اسکندر مقدونی و جانشینان او در ایران و سایر متصرفات از آن‌ها یاد می‌کنند، الکساندریا، آپامه‌آ، آنتیوخیا، لائودیسه‌آ و... نام داشته‌اند که جز نام آن‌ها، اطلاعات دیگری از این شهرها در دست نیست.
In 1322 AD, an inscription in Greek script was discovered from the neighborhood of Nahavand "Two Sisters" which shows that Nahavand was called "Laodicea" during the Seleucid period and had a temple of the same name.
The cities that historians and writers mention from the time of Alexander the Great and his successors in Iran and other occupations are called Alexandria, Apamea, Antioch, Laodicea, etc., but no other information is available about these cities.
