Prime Minister Mr. Mohammed S. Al-Sudani Inspects the National Control Center for Electricity in Al-Amin District in Baghdad

On Sunday evening, Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani visited the National Electricity Control Center located in the Al-Amin, southeast of Baghdad. The center is responsible for distributing electricity to the capital, Baghdad, and the governorates.

During his visit, the Prime Minister was briefed by workers at the center on the current status of electricity production and distribution, as well as the plan for the upcoming summer. He stressed the importance of identifying the root cause of the power cuts that citizens have been complaining about, which occur at the beginning and end of each month. He directed officials to identify fault sites and hold those responsible accountable, and to submit a monthly report on operating hours during these periods.

The Prime Minister also directed officials to address citizens' complaints within 24 hours and grant more authority to branch officials in the districts to deal with complaints more quickly.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister emphasized that his government's investment in gas and maintenance contracts with General Electric and Siemens is aimed at addressing the long-standing problems with electricity production and distribution.

It is noteworthy that this was the first time a Prime Minister had visited the National Control Center since its establishment several years ago.
