The signing ceremony of two Japan's Grant Aids for “The Projec | Embassy of Japan in Iran/سفارت ژاپن در ايران

The signing ceremony of two Japan's Grant Aids for “The Project for Promoting Environmental Management and Sustainable Livelihoods in Lake Urmia and other Wetlands” and “The Project for Promoting Inclusive and Sustainable Development of the Yellowfin Tuna Value Chain in Chabahar”,totaling 676 million Japanese Yen, was held at the Embassy of Japan in Iran on 17th February 2021.
The descriptions of the two projects are as below;

1 Grant Aid for “The Project for Promoting Environmental Management and Sustainable Livelihoods in Lake Urmia and other Wetlands (through UNDP)” 【Grant Amount: up to 313 million yen】
This project will support the introduction and creation of livelihoods that do not depend on water resources in Lake Urmia and two other wetlands in Iran, and promote wetland management by local communities, which resulting in reducing consumption of water resources by unregulated rural development and contributing to the sustainable development of Iran through improvement of the livelihood of the local communities.

2 Grant Aid for “The Project for Prvomoting Inclusive and Sustainable Development of the Yellowfin Tuna Value Chain in Chabahar (through UNIDO)”【Grant Amount: up to 363 million yen】
This project will develop a sustainable fishery industry in Chabahar by supporting the Iranian government in establishing a marine resource management system. At the same time, through the assistance to develop the fishery value chain in the region, this project will contribute to strengthen the economic and social structure in Iran.
