𝗢𝗻 𝗖𝗔𝗦’ 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗺 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁: Makwayela shot and set in Mozambique in 1977 is about factory workers who work in a glass factory. Many of them men, had previously migrated to South Africa to work in gold mines, and returned to Maputo, Mozambique making use of the vernacular expression Fanakolo. The workers here perform the Makwayela, an anti-resistance performance derived from the Fanakalo language to perform songs and dances of resistances denouncing apartheid and imperialism .
