Case report : A primiparous 26-year-old patient, with unrema | MedRophine Science

Case report :

A primiparous 26-year-old patient, with unremarkable personal medical history, but her sister had esophagus atresia associated with situs inversus and primary ciliary dyskinesia.

The first-trimester ultrasound screening at 12 weeks and 4 days of gestation revealed a hyperechoic aspect of the entire right lung, which led doctors to suspect a unilateral pulmonary pathology . Nuchal translucency was measured at 0.9 mm for a cranio-caudal length at 62.5 mm.(measured NT value is 8 percentile for this CRL) . Just for reminding the fact that normal or lower than normal NT doesn’t mean that a fetus is completely healthy!

Pregnancy terminated and the histology of the right lung showed multiple cysts relatively uniform in size,..etc and a pathological diagnosis of CCAM type 3 was confirmed.
