دو اشتباه رایج

بکار بردن کلمه any بجای either در اشاره به دو گزینه

Don't say: Any of these two books is good.

Say: Either of these two books is good.

‏ Either به معنی یکی از دو ( گزینه موجود) و any به معنی یکی یا هریک از سه یا چند (گزینه موجود)

دوبار منفی کردن جمله.

Don't say: She says she's not afraid of nobody.

Say: She says she's not afraid of anybody.

Or: She says she's afraid of nobody.

برای انکه دوبار جمله را منفی نکنید دقت کنید وقتی از not استفاده میکنید باید تغییرات زیر را بدهید

بجای none بگویید any,
بجای nothing بگویید anything,
بجای nobody بگویید anybody,
بجای no one بگویید anyone,
بجایnowhere بگویید anywhere,
بجایneither ... nor بگویید با either ... or.
