jābir b. ʿabd allāh said, "the prophet ʿalayhi al-salam went out to his companions and recited sūrah al-raḥmān to them from start to finish; they kept silent. the prophet then said, ‘I had recited it to the jinn the night they met with me, and they had a better response than yours. every time I recited His statement, ‘which of His blessings will you both then deny?’ they would say, ‘not a single blessing of yours, our Lord, can we deny; to You alone belongs all praise.’"
