Doctoral Researcher (f/div/m) in Fungal Pathogenesis
The field of study:
The successful candidate will investigate the field of fungal pathogenesis through the lens of RNA biology. The main topics of the project may include:
• Mechanisms of host RNA regulation during fungal infection.
• RNA trafficking by extracellular vesicles and/or ribonucleoprotein complexes.
• Investigation of RNA-based therapeutics for the treatment of fungal infections.
Required Qualifications:
• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in microbiology, biochemistry, mycology, or related discipline. Candidates about to obtain their degree are welcome to apply.
• Experimental background in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, or related discipline.
• Experience in working with fungi, extracellular vesicles, and/or analyzing RNA-Seq data (or willingness to learn) is a plus.
• The candidate should be willing and able to work in an international, interdisciplinary research team.
• Very good communication skills in English.

We seek a talented and dedicated doctoral student eager to pursue a career in chemistry with an interest in environmental phenomena. You should be open-minded, keen to learn and have a genuine interest in science. The ideal candidate has broad knowledge within chemistry ideally with courses in atmospheric chemistry and environmental science in their past curriculum. We welcome applicants with documented laboratory experience where experience utilizing High-Resolution Chemical Ionisation MS is advantageous, as is knowledge in data analysis using Python, MatLab or similar.
You should be able to work independently and in a group, and communicate well in English. A maximum 2-page Statement of Research detailing past, present, and future research interests, including any notable research accomplishments should be included with the application materials.

Requirements
Ideally, the candidate has a Master’s degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Business Informatics (or a related field). Fluency in the English language is highly recommended. Topic-wise, our research facility is always open to own proposals and further suggestions. Work is almost entirely research-centered with limited teaching duties. We encourage women to apply.
