استقبلنا مساء اليوم وفد المجلس الأعلى الإسلامي العراقي برئاسة سماحة الشيخ همام حمودي رئيس المجلس الأعلى وتبادلنا التهاني بقرب حلول عيد الفطر المبارك، كما بحثنا تطورات المشهد السياسي في العراق والمنطقة والاستحقاقات القادمة.
أكدنا أهمية حفظ الاستقرار في العراق والعمل على تحويله لاستقرار دائم، وبيّنا أهمية دعم الحكومة في مسارها الخدمي والتنموي، تناولنا أيضا تطورات الأحداث في غزة وحمّلنا المجتمع الدولي نتيجة مايجري جراء سكوته عن المجازر والإبادة الجماعية التي يتعرض لها شعبنا الفلسطيني في غزة ، ودعونا للضغط على الكيان الإسرائيلي لتطبيق قرار مجلس الأمن لوقف الحرب وإغاثة النازحين وإعمار المدينة.
This evening, we welcomed a delegation from the Iraqi Higher Islamic Council, led by His Eminence Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, the head of the Higher Council. We exchanged greetings in anticipation of the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr. We delved into discussions concerning the evolving political landscape in Iraq and the wider region, along with the forthcoming challenges.
We emphasized the imperative of maintaining stability in Iraq and endeavoring towards its enduring establishment. We underscored the importance of bolstering governmental efforts in both service provision and developmental initiatives. Furthermore, attention was drawn to the unfolding events in Gaza. We held the international community accountable for its tacit acceptance of the atrocities and genocide perpetrated against our Palestinian brethren in Gaza. A call to action was made to exert pressure on the Israeli authorities to adhere to the Security Council resolution, cease hostilities, extend aid to the displaced, and contribute to the reconstruction efforts of the city.
