"Iranian cultural heritage in Caucasus"
The Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Republic of Armenia in cooperation with the Institute of Oriental Studies at Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University and the Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts named after "Mesrop Mashtots" /MATENADARAN/, are holding an international academic conference. The topic is:
Iranian cultural heritage in Caucasus․
The conference includes a wide range of historical, literary and cultural studies and various aspects of cultural heritage of Iran in Caucasian region. The main themes and topics of the conference are:
• Historical, literary and cultural relations between Iran and Caucasus
• Tangible monuments of Iranian culture (mosques, fortresses and other exemplars of Iranian architecture) in Caucasus.
• Iranian inscriptions in Caucasus
• Iranian ethnic groups settled in Caucasus (Ossetians, Tats, Talysh people)
• Comparative studies of Iranian and Caucasian languages
• Old Ganja as the Iranian spiritual and cultural center in south Caucasus
• Persian (Farsi) Language in south Caucasus
• The era and literal legacy of Nizami Ganjavi and khaqani (of Shirvan)
• Iranian intellectuals in old Tbilisi
• Hobaysh of Tbilisi and his works
• Comparative studies in mythology, literature and folklore
• The role of translation in strengthening the cultural relations between Iran and Caucasus
• The role and impact of political activists of Caucasus in formation and development of ideological trends and political thoughts in Iran during the second half of the 19th and first decades of 20th centuries.
• The existing sources in Iran on “jungle (jangal) movement” (Russian, Armenian and Georgian)
• Documentary studies, reviewing the documents relevant to the topics on Iran, south Caucasian countries and Russia.
• Cultural mission of Armenians in Iran and Caucasus.
