Today, Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani chaired a meeting with the Chairman and Board of Commissioners of the Communications and Media Commission to discuss matters concerning the fourth mobile network license. The objective is to enhance the telecommunications sector and improve services for citizens.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of cooperation between the Communications and Media Commission and the Ministry of Communications. Recently, the Ministry contracted a consultancy to proceed with the fourth license project through the National Telecommunications Company as stipulated in the government program.

During the meeting, Mr. Al-Sudani stressed the need to monitor mobile phone companies' activities and ensure they pay owed amounts to the government in compliance with the law. He also highlighted the importance of monitoring service quality and adherence to the standards set by the law. The Prime Minister directed to follow up on the implementation of the judicial decisions issued against Korek Telecom Company.

Additionally, the Prime Minister underscored the significance of the media sector and its impact. He urged the CMC to re-evaluate and upgrade this vital sector, stressing the importance of collaboration between the Commission's executive body and its Board of Commissioners while avoiding administrative complexities.

Mr. Al-Sudani emphasized that public funds and state resources should not be subject to political pressure or influence. Improving the telecommunications sector is essential for its economic benefits and revenues for the state and citizens, maximization of resources, and increased job opportunities.

The Prime Minister reiterated the government's support for media freedom while stressing the need to regulate and control media network practices in compliance with the law and the constitution.

Finally, His Excellency directed the CMC to respond to citizens' complaints about public services and provide quick solutions to problems while preventing their recurrence.
