"Indeed, a person will embark upon an affair of business or a position of authority until it becomes easy for him and he is close to achieving it. Then Allāh will look at him and say to the angels: 'Turn that away from him, for surely if I facilitate this for him, I will enter him into the Hellfire (due to it)." So Allāh will turn this affair away from him.

The person will continue to see this as a bad thing and will say: 'So and so beat me to this, so and so outsmarted me.' But in reality it is a blessing from Allāh."

"And from the punishments of sins is that they place severe loneliness in the heart. Thereupon, the sinner finds himself lonely. Loneliness occurs between him and his Lord, and between him and the creation, and between him and himself. And whenever the sins increase, the loneliness intensifies."

"Narrate to the people what they are familiar with; do you want Allāh and His Messenger to be denied?"

"Someone might give you money, and you'd think he was generous to you, and another might intercede for you, and you'd think he was kind and good to you, but you might not pay attention to the one who gave you from his time. He listens to your call, welcomes your visit, and suchlike of giving you from his time. And life is but time, and so he who gives you from his time has given you (a portion) from his life."

"...and likewise loving the Speech of Allāh, indeed it is from the signs (of your love) for Allāh. If you want to know how much love you, and other than yourself, have for Allāh, then look to how much love you have for the Qur’ān in your heart. The delight you find in listening (to the Qur’ān) is greater than the delight the people of amusement and music find in their listening to melodious sounds. It is known that he who loves someone will love his speech and conversation more than anything else. As it was said:

'If your claim of loving (Allāh) was true, then why do you abandon His Book, have you not pondered upon what it contains of delightful speech?'

"If our hearts were pure, we would never be tired of the Speech of Allāh."

2021-11-18 21:47:57 You'll Die Between Two Good Deeds...

Muʿādh b. Jabal رضي الله عنه advised his son:

"My son! Pray the prayer of he who is just about to leave, and realise that you might not be able to pray ever again. And know, my son, that the believer dies between two good deeds; one that he performed, and one that he intended to perform later on."
