Iraqi President: Regional and International collaboration is needed to calm tensions in the region, to promote further dialogue and convergence
On Thursday, August 12, 2021, the President of the Republic of Iraq, Barham Salih met with the French ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Bruno Hubert. The meeting took place in Baghdad at al-Salam Palace.
President Salih and France's ambassador discussed Iraqi- French ties, and how best to boost these relations at every level. They agreed how important it was to deepen bilateral relations in the ways that better serve the interests of two countries and regional issues.
Iraqi President emphasized how important it was to advance relationships with France and the European Union and where there could be further understanding across all the fields.
International efforts in the fight against terrorism and extremism should be sustained, he added.
Crisis should be defused through having further dialogue and convergence in the region, while regional and International collaboration is needed to calm tensions, said the President.
Cooperation and coordination are also required in the efforts to meet economic and cultural interdependence in the region, to build peace and stability here, he underlined.
